Argentina’s most iconic chair, handcrafted in Buenos Aires by Argentine artisans.
Designed in Buenos Aires in 1938 by Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy, the BKF — internationally known as the Butterfly Chair — became one of Argentina’s most celebrated contributions to modern design.
The chair is represented in the permanent collection of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. In 1940, Edgar Kaufmann Jr. acquired two early BKF chairs in Argentina: one for MoMA and another for Fallingwater, the legendary house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Kaufmann family.
THE POLO FANGIO
Our Polo Fangio brings together two Argentine legends: the iconic BKF Chair and Juan Manuel Fangio, one of the greatest names in the history of motorsport.
Its striking Retro Red leather is inspired by the Ferrari 290 MM raced by Fangio in 1956, giving the chair a distinctive racing spirit while preserving the timeless elegance of the original BKF.
Bold, sophisticated and unmistakably red, the Polo Fangio is designed as a statement piece for interiors — and a special piece for motorsport enthusiasts, collectors and design lovers alike.

NATURAL ARGENTINE LEATHER
Each Polo Fangio is handcrafted using premium 100% vegetable-tanned Argentine leather, the same type of thick, durable leather traditionally used in Argentina to make polo boots and saddles.
We believe genuine leather should preserve its natural character.
Natural range marks, subtle scars, wrinkles, grain and variations in texture remain visible beneath the rich Retro Red tone. These are not imperfections, but signs of authenticity that make every hide — and every Polo Fangio — unique.
No two Polo Fangio chairs are exactly alike.
MADE TO LAST
We use exceptionally thick leather, measuring at least 3.2 mm, reinforced around the perimeter with our signature double-leather border, creating edges up to approximately 6.4 mm thick.
The leather is strong enough for traditional polo equipment, yet gradually softens with use and develops a beautiful, individual patina over time.
The cover rests on our classic welded iron rod frame, powder-coated in black, creating a striking contrast with the deep racing red leather.

HANDCRAFTED IN BUENOS AIRES
Every Big BKF is individually handcrafted by skilled Argentine artisans in our workshop in Buenos Aires.
From selecting each hide to cutting, stitching and finishing the leather, every chair combines traditional Argentine craftsmanship with one of the country's most internationally recognized designs.
