Argentina’s most iconic chair, handcrafted in Buenos Aires by Argentine artisans.
Designed in Buenos Aires in 1938 by Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy, the BKF — internationally known as the Butterfly Chair — became one of Argentina’s most celebrated contributions to modern design.
The chair is represented in the permanent collection of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. In 1940, Edgar Kaufmann Jr. acquired two early BKF chairs in Argentina: one for MoMA and another for Fallingwater, the legendary house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Kaufmann family.
THE POLO HABANERO
Our Polo Habanero is inspired by the deep, sophisticated brown of a classic Cuban cigar and dark chocolate.
Each chair is handcrafted using premium 100% vegetable-tanned Argentine leather, the same type of thick, durable leather traditionally used in Argentina to make polo boots and saddles.
Its rich tobacco-brown color combines warm chocolate undertones with the depth and character of aged leather, creating a chair that feels both classic and sophisticated.
The Polo Habanero is particularly beautiful in a private study, library or living room, where its deep brown tone pairs naturally with wood, stone and other noble materials.

NATURAL ARGENTINE LEATHER
We believe genuine leather should preserve its natural character.
Natural range marks, subtle scars, wrinkles, grain and variations in tone remain visible and are part of the authenticity and beauty of every hide.
Rather than making every chair look identical, we embrace these natural characteristics. They give the Polo Habanero its depth, personality and unmistakable leather feel.
No two Polo Habanero chairs are exactly alike.
MADE TO LAST
We use exceptionally thick leather, measuring at least 3.2 mm, reinforced around the perimeter with our signature double-leather border, creating edges up to approximately 6.4 mm thick.
This construction gives the cover exceptional strength and durability while allowing the leather to soften naturally and become increasingly comfortable with use.
Over time, the rich Habanero tone develops even greater depth and character as the leather acquires its own unique patina.
HANDCRAFTED IN BUENOS AIRES
Every Big BKF is individually handcrafted by skilled Argentine artisans in our workshop in Buenos Aires.
From selecting each hide to cutting, stitching and finishing the leather, every chair combines traditional Argentine leather craftsmanship with one of the country's most internationally recognized designs.
